Why save the Census Day package?
SIRAS Current data will continue to change after Census Day. The saved extracts provide local point-in-time evidence that can later be compared with the certified CALPADS 16.14 student-level population and other Fall 1 reports.

Do not rerun a later Current report and assume it recreates Census Day.
If a required Census Day snapshot was missed, use the historical/reconstruction guidance appropriate to that task rather than silently substituting a later Current population.

After the Snapshot Is Saved
- Continue routine SEDS submission and error resolution through the Fall 1 cycle.
- Use LEA Data Monitoring Tasks for recurring monitoring.
- Use Investigate a Questionable Record when a population, date, or history does not make sense.
- Use Process for Error Resolution once the correction path is verified.
- Use Reporting data to CALPADS and CALPADS Submission Log Help to submit and verify corrected reporting transactions.
