Hello SELPA Staff!
The first S in SIRAS is for SELPA.
SELPA Information Records and Analysis Support
SIRAS supports SELPA and LEA staff while allowing each SELPA and LEA to follow its own local special education protocols. SIRAS can provide tools and suggestions, but local procedures remain a local decision.

What Are You Trying to Do?
| Work with one LEA Most student-, meeting-, data-, and CALPADS-level procedures are the same procedures the LEA itself follows. For recurring data review, start with LEA Data Monitoring Tasks. For a questionable record, use Data Monitoring Help. | I’m new to SELPA work or CALPADS Start with CALPADS — Welcome SELPA Users. This CDE resource is designed to help SELPA staff understand CALPADS access and SELPA-level responsibilities. |
| When will our SELPA rollover happen? Use SELPA IEP Rollover Schedule & Status to check the current SIRAS rollover schedule and status. | Look across member LEAs Use the SELPA-level tools below when the question requires a cross-LEA view, such as reporting status, indicators, threshold review, DSEA review, or SELPA-level counts. |
SELPA Planning, Counts & Program Reports
| DRDP for SELPASELPA-level DRDP reporting and review. | FTE Excess Cost ReportRun FTE estimates from SIRAS data. |
| Annual Service Plan ReportRun the ASP Annual Service Plan / Local Plan report. | Private School StudentsFind private-school students in SIRAS. |
| IEP Implementation ResourcesResources related to IEP implementation. | Prior Written Notice (PWN)Reference for PWN procedures and documentation. |
Reporting Cycles, Due Dates & Submission Review
| Preparing for Fall 1 Census DayFall 1 preparation and certification support. | Preparing for EOY in SIRASEOY preparation and review. |
| Due DatesUse published due dates to plan local reminders and LEA check-ins. | SELPA IEP Rollover Schedule & StatusCheck when the SELPA rollover is scheduled or complete. |
| CALPADS Submission Log HelpWhen helping one LEA, review the SIRAS submission/job history and determine whether the expected CALPADS job posted or rejected. | Reporting data to CALPADSUse the regular LEA reporting instructions when assisting with submission work for a member LEA. |
SELPA-Level Tools
| Age 15+ Report for SELPA Use this report when the SELPA needs an age-based student population view for local review or planning. | Member LEA Reporting Status Use this cross-LEA view when the SELPA chooses to monitor recent reporting activity, rejected jobs, open errors, or unreported records across member LEAs. |
| Performance Indicator Reports Review indicator reports across the SELPA and member LEAs. | |
| Indicator 12 Monitor Part C-to-B transition and third-birthday timelines. | 1% Alternate Threshold Report Review alternate-assessment threshold information available for SELPA staff. |
| Annual Determination Letter (ADL) Find and review information used for annual determination work. | DSEA Help Investigate students whose District of Special Education Accountability is outside the expected SELPA. |
| Out of Home Care Estimates Find potential Out of Home Care records for review. | Low Incidence Report Review low-incidence counts and student information used for SELPA planning. |
When a SELPA-level tool identifies a questionable record:
work the issue at the applicable LEA/student level. Use the same investigation, correction, meeting, and CALPADS-reporting instructions that apply to that LEA.
Suggested Census-Day / Fall 1 SELPA Reports
- Run the FTE estimate report using the applicable Fall 1 census population.
- Run the Low Incidence report for the Fall 1 census date.
- If your SELPA tracks WorkAbility or age-based planning, run the locally required student lists by district/school and separate charter populations when needed.
Recurring SELPA Reminders
SELPA procedures are local. The items below are useful reminders when they fit your SELPA's practice:
- Use Due Dates to backwards-plan LEA check-ins for Fall 1, EOY, indicators, DRDP, and meeting completion.
- If your SELPA monitors member-LEA reporting cadence, use Member LEA Reporting Status.
- Encourage LEAs to perform regular LEA Data Monitoring and compliance monitoring.
- Support local private-school protocols and other SELPA-specific procedures without replacing the LEA's own operating protocols.
- Use the Fall 1 population as appropriate for local FTE, Low Incidence, and annual-plan work.
