Data monitoring leads to data compliance.
What is data monitoring?
- Looking for data discrepancies in CALPADS.
 - Looking for data anomalies requiring resolution.
 - Looking for compliance issues ahead of time and notifying staff.
 - Looking for compliance issues already in place and ensuring meeting delay reasons are in place and documented.
 - Reminding staff to fill out DRDP ratings in SIRAS.
 - Sending data monthly to CALPADS.
 - Resolving posted errors and warnings.
 - Researching compliance findings in the 16.21 report.
 - Printing monthly compliance reports from SIRAS for progress tracking.
 - Printing monthly indicator reports from SIRAS for progress tracking.
 - Exporting SIRAS snapshot data monthly for compliance monitoring.
 - Exporting SIRAS snapshot data monthly for caseload monitoring.
 - Printing end of year reports for meeting totals.
 - Printing out/downloading out of home care lists quarterly.
 - Printing out/downloading credentialing audit searches quarterly.
 - Printing out low incidence reports at the end of the year.
 
How to succeed in data monitoring:
- Don't put it off, it needs to be done on a recurring basis.
 - If your user role is district or school SPED Clerk, this is an expected task for this role.

 - Understand errors and warnings on existing data.
 - Understand active status and what it implies.
 - Understand what pending is in SIRAS
 - Do the tasks and resolve as many errors as you can each month!
 - Ask questions if you get stuck.
 - Data needs to be sent monthly from SIRAS to CALPADS.

 - Use the DRDP helpsheet to ensure DRDP ratings are collected in timely manner

Compliance Monitoring Tasks
Census Day Monitoring:
Active Status = active/pending, then predefined Student and Service data exports. Store securely
FTE Numbers must come from LEA Approved 16.14 extract from CALPADS!

 - Run Age by Disability Report
 - Run Disability by Plan Type 16.12 Report

Projections and Analysis
- How to find all annuals or triennials overdue as of Fall 1 or 6/30/2025
