Do not fill out district enrollment date in SIRAS until a plan effective date for participation is known.

Public School - Living in district already enrolled - Referral

If a student has an SSID already and is currently enrolled in General Ed., then as long as the parental consent date overlaps existing enrollment, that is sufficient to already report a pending as of and the initial IEP results themselves.

Public or Private - Living in district not enrolled - Referral

If a student does not have an SSID and parental consent for assessment is obtained, the LEA is required by CALPADS to get an SSID minimally to report the results of the Initial Evaluation.

Private School Students: When private school enrollment is suggested by CDE

ONLY Districts of location should submit private school enrollments for all students attending private
schools within the LEA who are referred for evaluation or transferring from outside the district on
active IEPs/ISPs
• Districts of residence should NEVER submit private school enrollments unless they are also the
District of Location
• Private school enrollments for students attending NON-PROFIT private schools should NOT be
exited with N470 – No Show, they should be exited at the end of the year with E170 – Non-primary
Enrollment Exit
• Private school enrollments for students attending FOR PROFIT private schools should ALWAYS be
exited with N470- No Show
