Active Status Protocol
If a student is eligible, enrolled and participating, the active status in SIRAS should be Active.
If the student not all three then the status needs to be Inactive or pending.
Records in the middle of the referral process must be have active status Pending.
Records for newly returned students can be made pending when the record needs to be accessed.
Eligible not participating records can be made pending without removing inactive reason in order for staff to have follow up meetings and report the MEET record but not report the PLAN record as the student is not participating.
Pending active status is a 'to do' list. Daily the District SPED Clerk should be working to convert Pending to either Active or Inactive.
