What an Active SIRAS Record Should Look Like in CALPADS
An Active SIRAS record means the student is eligible, enrolled, and participating. CALPADS should eventually contain a reporting history consistent with that Current status.
This article is a comparison guide. The SIRAS Active setting alone does not create or submit all required CALPADS records.
Current status and transaction history must both be complete.
First update SIRAS to reflect what happened in the field. Then finalize the meeting or create the archive that reports the applicable SWDS, MEET, PLAN, and SERV records.

Expected CALPADS Pattern
For an Active SIRAS student, expect to find:
- an applicable district enrollment in SENR;
- SWDS [1] Eligible and Participating;
- the applicable Initial Evaluation, Plan Review, and Reevaluation MEET history;
- a current PLAN whose Plan Effective Date overlaps the district enrollment; and
- the associated SERV records.
If the Records Do Not Match
- Confirm the student is actually eligible, enrolled, and participating.
- Confirm the SIRAS Current record was updated promptly and uses the correct dates.
- Confirm the applicable meeting was finalized or Archive for Reporting transaction was created.
- Review the archived transaction on the MIS Summary.
- Confirm the transaction was submitted and accepted by CALPADS.
- Resolve validation errors without changing the historical story merely to make the files pass.
A reporting lag does not change the field event—but it can make the student appear noncompliant.
