Errors and Warnings messages and counts are generated when required fields are missing or have invalid values.  The specific validation rules can be primarily found in accordance with CALPADS documentation.

Each Student record is checked for Errors and Warnings:
  • every time it is selected
  • when you click Validate on the MIS Summary
  • when you finalize a meeting with updated data

The errors and warnings are displayed on:
  • Choose Student list under the "E" and "W" columns
  • on the MIS Summary, when clicking the Validate button
  • on Student Lists with columns "Validation Errors" and "Validation Warnings".  (see Predefined List: Validation Errors)

Messages and Colorization:
  • If anything is required and missing, it will be highlighted in red with a message indicating the value is required.
  • If anything is an invalid value (e.g. invalid program setting for grade) it will be highlighted in red with an error message explaining what the problem is.
  • Some errors may not appear on the MIS Summary until other required fields are populated.
  • Warnings (e.g. overdue IEP date) are displayed with a yellow icon and a message.
