Subject: Fall 1 Deadline Reminder and County Certification Reports

Dear Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representatives,

The 2025–26 CALPADS Fall 1 Certification Deadline is Friday, December 12, 2025.

It is important for local educational agencies (LEAs) to certify the Fall 1 submission on or before December 12, 2025 in order to report their enrollment, English language acquisition status, immigrant counts, free/reduced-price meal (FRPM) eligibility, special education, and dropouts.

The Fall 1 data that LEAs approve by the December 12 Certification Deadline are used to determine the unduplicated pupil percentage (UPP), which determines 2025–26 Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) supplemental and concentration grant funding used in the calculation of the First Principal Apportionment (P1).

Data approved by December 12 are also used to calculate federal Indicator 9 (Disproportionality overall), and Indicator 10 (Disproportionality by specific disability categories). It is critical that student race and ethnicity data are accurate and correct in CALPADS by the December 12 deadline, to ensure that monitoring determinations based on race and ethnicity are accurate. Since these data are used in the calculations of these indicators, Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs) are also strongly encouraged, but not required, to approve the Fall 1 submission by December 12.

LEAs who fail to approve and certify their data by December 12 will not have Fall 1 2025 data as part of their P1 calculations, or data for the development of these two federal indicators.

Please note:

For LEAs that fail to meet the 2025–26 CALPADS Fall 1 Submission Certification Deadline on December 12:

Letters will be sent to county and district superintendents and charter school administrators to notify them of the missed December 12, 2025 Certification Deadline.
