How Medi-Cal Billing Through SIRAS Works
- The district enrolls with MBT.
- The SIRAS/MBT connection is enabled for the district.
- Providers continue documenting services in SIRAS.
- Applicable Service Log information can be provided directly from SIRAS to MBT through the backend connection.
When the district's SIRAS/MBT connection is enabled, the applicable Service Log information can be exchanged on the backend. Providers do not need to export their Service Logs and upload them to MBT.
This helps reduce duplicate service documentation while allowing providers to continue using the SIRAS Service Log as part of their normal workflow.
Entering Service Logs
Providers should continue using the regular SIRAS Service Log and follow their district's service-documentation procedures.

Does Every Service Log Become a Medi-Cal Claim?
No. Entering a Service Log in SIRAS documents the service; it does not by itself determine whether the service is billable.
District billing procedures and applicable Medi-Cal requirements determine which documented services are used for billing.
Providers should follow their district's Medi-Cal billing procedures regarding service documentation and any additional billing requirements.
How Does My District Get Started?
The district must enroll with MBT before the SIRAS/MBT connection can be enabled.
