Quick help on how to find an NPA ID:

  1. https://www.cde.ca.gov/sp/se/ds/
  2. And click on the link for ‘Nonpublic Schools and Agencies Certifications Worksheet’
  3. We need the “Nonpublic Agency Identification Code” entered into the individual service at the bottom of the MIS page.

-------------------------------------------

If your district is getting the service error related to an NPA ID,  Fatal SERV0447, then it means students in your district have certain services where the Service Provider is code 400 for NPA, Non Public Agency. These services also need one more piece of information to be compliant, that being a NPA code.

Agencies require a Nonpublic Agency Code. If you do not have a valid code due to the Agency just not having one, utilize code 5555555. This will indicate you are reporting a non-certified agency. Please be aware that providing services from a non-certified agency may trigger non-compliance issues.

In order to solve this, the NPA’s state NPA ID needs to be entered for each service they are providing.

If your NPA provider is not on the list, ask them if maybe they are listed under a different name.

If even then they are still not on the list, you can ask them to look at the source of the list if they don’t understand what you asking them.

If they still can’t find themselves on that list, you may want to contact your Director to intervene to find out if they are in process for getting an ID.  If not then we may need to contact CALPADS to possibly get an interim code to allow you to certify.

The way this is done for the time being is as such.

  • Find the student records that have this error
  • Or search for all students with Provider = NPA
  • Confirm each service really does have an NPA Provider
  • Identify the provider for each service.
  • Copy the provider name from the Excel Spreadsheet with the list of NPA providers.
  • Paste the name of the provider into the NPA provider name area of the Service record.
  • Confirm the 7 digit code auto populates into the Service NPA code area
  • Or manually paste the corresponding 7 digit code into the NPA Provider ID code field.
  • Save the Service and repeat for any additional services.
