In order to study current performance, past performance is needed to compare it to.
If your district already has a method for tracking State performance plan indicators, by all means stick with that.
If your district is looking for suggestions, feel free to follow the instructions below.
In order to get past performance of your district to review, it is suggested that quarterly predefined extracts be created and downloaded.
Then the following metrics can be compared as being higher or lower from the past or future events, relative to the 'as of' date.
One can run these reports separately to fill out an excel spreadsheet or other data gathering system to keep track of performance.
Alternatively we can extract the data from SIRAS and filter for the same results directly
These numbers can be reported on by running predefined 'student data' exports from SIRAS. (Can also run 'Service Data' extracts as well.)
We suggest running the data exports minimally on Fall 1, 12/1, 4/1 and last day of school, EOY.
Have a file naming system like 1004YYYY_studentData.xlsx, 1201YYYY_studentData.xlsx, 0401YYYY_studentData.xlsx & 0630YYYY_studentData.xlsx
Make sure to securely store the files. Check with your IT department for assistance with how to locally store the files for reference.
