Why is a student not showing up "in TOMS"?

If the student is currently eligible and participating:

  • Initial evaluation was just finalized and CALPADS hasn't had a day or so to update TOMS.
  • There is no current SWDS = 1 SWDS record in CALPADS with an effective date in alignment with enrollment date. (District SPED person can resend SWDS from Siras)

If student is not currently eligible in CALPADS with SWDS = 1 the student's record will not be 'in TOMS'

  • If you know the student to be 'eligible and participating' now at your district but CALPADS doesn't know this, your district SPED clerk can build into CALPADS the appropriate SWDS, MEET, PLAN & SERV records needed to indicate to TOMS the student is eligible and participating.

What does SWDS = 1 Look like in CALPADS to show eligibility for TOMS?

  • Current enrollment needs to be in place as well, not future enrollment.
