It is not recommended to have two or more users working on the same record at the same time; but you can. If changing the same field on the same screen it may cause one or both of the users to get "kicked out". The IEP Manager is the only area that may be used by multiple users.
Concurrent usage can result in data loss, so be very careful when more than one person is adding data to the same record the same hour or so.
If a user is kicked out, data that was just pasted or keyed in will not be saved. This a major reason why we suggest never doing narrative data entry in SIRAS like it was a word processor. The data should be entered and saved immediately.
The IEP Manager may be accessed by more than one user. However, there can only be one user on a form at a time. If a form has already been accessed by a user, the form will list who is accessing the form and timestamp it. You are able to view the form, but in 'read only' until the other user leaves the form. This does not prevent another user from accessing another form on the IEP Manager. SIRAS does not have the capability to have more than one user on the same form.
If another user is waiting to access the record, contact them to make sure they see your changes if you are working on the same form.
By clicking the “Refresh” button above in the IEP Manager will reevaluate the availability of the form and update recent data entry by another user.
If other user still does not see data your session just entered, have them log off of SIRAS and back on then they should see your data entry saved before proceeding with their data entry into the same form. EX. present levels form.
IMPORTANT: Do not log in SIRAS with more than one session per user at a time. The same user should not log in SIRAS in two different sessions at the same time. If this is done you will get “kick out”.
